We are Papernook.Papernook was founded to support people on their journey to greater self-awareness, healing and to offer a sense of grounding and safety. It is an invitation to consider how you would most like to show up in the world and to feel more ‘holistically well'. Understanding ourselves better, gives us hope and an opportunity to make decisions that are more aligned with our values and needs. Papernook is a health service that takes a therapeutic arts-based approach to inquire and create space for possibility beyond the traditional talking therapies. With the support of a Therapist, clients can remain curious and explore using a range of creative materials to make sense of things. Choosing to prioritise our mental health is often the first step to healing and uncovering our full potential.
Papernook was a playful name inspired by the importance of first creating a space that feels safe and private (nook). Enabling a person to feel comfortable in therapy is key to supporting self-expression and increasing confidence when experimenting with arts making materials (paper). The little paper plane came about after folding up a list of possible business names and flying it across the room - a symbol that we can't always achieve meaning through words alone. The Papernook private practice was established in February 2021 and is Brisbane-based. Telehealth services can be offered Australia-wide, with Arts Therapy kits sold and posted nationally and even overseas. |
